Jewellery Care

Beautiful jewellery deserves to be loved for a lifetime. With a little care, your Shrivya Jewell pieces will hold their brilliance for years to come. Here is everything you need to know.

The golden rule

Last on, first off. Always put your jewellery on after applying perfume, moisturiser, makeup and hairspray — and take it off before you shower, swim, sleep or exercise. Cosmetics, chlorine, salt water and sweat are the most common causes of dullness and tarnish.

Everyday wear

  • Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, cleaning or working out.
  • Avoid direct contact with perfume, hand sanitiser, sunscreen and lotion.
  • Take rings off before washing your hands where you can.
  • Put jewellery on last when getting ready, and take it off first at night.

How to clean each metal

Gold & rose gold

Mix a few drops of mild dish soap into warm (not hot) water. Soak the piece for a few minutes, gently clean with a soft baby toothbrush, rinse in clean water and pat dry with a soft lint-free cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or toothpaste.

Sterling silver

Silver naturally tarnishes over time when exposed to air — this is normal and easily reversed. Polish gently with a dedicated silver polishing cloth to restore the shine. For deeper cleaning, use the warm soapy water method above, then dry thoroughly. Wearing your silver often actually helps keep tarnish away.

Pieces with stones & crystals

Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking, harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners, which can loosen settings over time.

Storing your jewellery

  • Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box so they don’t scratch one another.
  • Keep jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
  • Lay necklaces flat or hang them to prevent tangling and kinks.
  • Keep the anti-tarnish pouch your order arrives in — it helps protect silver between wears.

A gentle reminder

Every piece is handled with care, but jewellery is delicate by nature. Treat it tenderly and it will reward you with brilliance for years.
